Dressage athlete Melissa Galloway and her horse Joey are sticking to their routine as they prepare to make their Olympic debut in Paris.
Galloway has been living and training in The Netherlands since January 2024, where she’s been putting the finishing touches on her Olympic routine.
“I’m following the same training schedule that we have been doing since we arrived,” said Galloway.
“I think it’s really important not to change anything just because it’s the Olympics. We’ve just been fine tuning and working on the little things.”
Being based in Europe has allowed Galloway to ride alongside other world class athletes daily and progress her own abilities as she prepares for the biggest event of her life.
“I’m training every day alongside Lottie Fry who is selected to represent Great Britain at the Games so it is really special to be training and preparing for the Games together.”
Galloway says she’s dreamed of competing at the Olympic Games since she was 11-years-old.
“I’m looking forward to everything about the Games. I’ve been dreaming about this experience my entire life, so I want to really make sure I take it all in and make the most of every opportunity.”
The dressage will begin on July 27th.
