The largest Olympic Rings to date have been unveiled in Londons Richmond Park.
Richmond Park is the latest to be added to a list of giant rings sites including, famous iconic land marks, London Tower Bridge, Heathrow airport, New Castle Gateshead and many more.
The 300 metre wide Olympic Rings have been mowed into the grass by six of The Royal Parks shire horses, and will be seen by many of the 4,000 Kiwis travelling to London, as they lie directly under the flight path to Heathrow Airport.
The visual spectacle will be maintained by two of the horses, Jim and Murdoch, who have been responsible for maintaining the park for many years.
Part of the Olympic Cycling Road Race route will pass through Richmond Park. New Zealand athletes Jack Bauer, Greg Henderson and Linda Villumsen will competing in the event which takes place on the 28th and the 29th of July.
These Rings have been installed to excite and inspire visitors coming to London. They are an iconic symbol, representing the peak of athletic achievement, and inspiring and uniting people around the world.
