Solid start for fullbore shooters

John Snowden and Brian Carter, New Zealand’s Queen’s Prize fullbore pair shooters, are in eighth place after the first day of their competition.

The New Zealand pair totalled 296 over the first three rounds. The final two rounds take place tomorrow. England, South Africa and Australia totalled 299 today to be at the top of the field.

Snowden recorded 49, 50, 50 in his three rounds and Carter’s scores were 49, 49, 49.

The New Zealanders have a wealth of Games experience between them. Carter, 54, competed at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.  Snowden, 49, competed at Melbourne, Delhi, where he won a gold medal, and Glasgow.
