Biography

Rio 2016 was George's third Olympics.

George first began rowing at Wellington College in 1999. After winning bronze in the Coxless Pair along with Nathan Twaddle at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, George retired from international rowing.
George then went on to study at Oxford University where he competed in the 2009 Oxford vs. Cambridge Boat race and later worked as a trader for Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong and Singapore.
In 2014 he returned to New Zealand, and rowing.
George married former New Zealand coxswain Rachel Goudie and has two children. George was awarded a MNZM in 2009
