Biography

EVENT: Cycling –Men's Road Race

The former mountain biker has calved out a memorable professional career on the road. He is in his 13th year as a professional and his 11th on the UCI WorldTour. He has ridden in eight Grand Tours including the Tour de France on six occasions. After racing with Garmin/Cannondale, he had a season with Quick-Step Floors before moving to Mitchelton Scott in 2018 where he remains (now Team BikeExchange-Jayco).

He won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and placed 10th at the London Olympics in 2012. He led the New Zealand team in the road race at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. He has six wins as a professional.
