Biography

The 30 year old veteran of 123 tests for the Black Sticks who has been busy saving goals since his debut in 1999. Since then he was an influential part of the 2002 silver medal win in Manchester as well as the credible 6th place in Athens in 2004. He says he still feels immensely proud whenever he takes the field for New Zealand and is certain to add to his already high tally of test caps in the lead-up to Beijing. Paul rates his character as his biggest strength, however admits he needs to do some work on his last minute organisation. Woolford was born in Auckland and is a stalwart of the Auckland NHL team – captaining them in the 2007 NHL. He works as a Sales Manager for Chesters and balances this with 15+ hours of training a week.
