No joy for shooters

Two New Zealand shooters were unable to advance past the qualification stages of their events today.

In the men’s 50m pistol qualification, Ricky Zhao finished in 14th position with a tally of 511 points. His sequence was 89, 82,82, 82, 92, 84.

The leading qualifier was Indian Om Mitharval with 549. He went on to win the bronze medal.

And in the men’s double trap qualifying, Scott Wilson finished 11th with a score of 127. His sequence was 25, 23, 25, 26, 28. The leading qualifier was Scotland’s David McMath, who totalled 137 and later went on to win the gold medal.
