The Women's Sevens capped off their winning streak by claiming the Sevens World Championship title in Los Angeles, defeating Australia in the final. Jorja Miller OLY #1589 delivered a standout performance throughout the series and was named the HSBC Women's Sevens Player of the Year 2025.
Tom Saunders marked his return to international sailing with a silver medal in the ILCA 7 at the French Olympic Week in Hyères - his first major regatta since Paris 2024. The 32-year-old from Tauranga secured second overall with a strong third-place finish in the double-points medal race.
Paris 2024 Olympian Hazel Ouwehand smashed her own NZ record at the Swimming NZ National Champs last week in Auckland. She stormed home in the 50m butterfly with a time of 25.43s!
Over in Argentina, Men's Trap Shooter Owen Robinson finished in fourth place at the ISSF World Cup
Sammie Maxwell delivered a strong performance to finish runner-up in Round 3 of the Whoop UCI MTB Cross-country World Series in the Czech Republic. Starting 25th on the grid after a tough short track race, she steadily moved through the field, reaching the leaders midway through the eight-lap race at Nové Mesto Na Moravé.
Ryan Fox secured his first PGA Tour title at the Myrtle Beach Classic this month with a dramatic 50-foot chip-in birdie on the first playoff hole, defeating Mackenzie Hughes and Harry Higgs. This is an incredible milestone in his career.
Aimee Fisher has been on a roll, backing up her World Cup gold in Szeged earlier in the month with another victory in the Women’s K1 1000m at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Poznan. She crossed the line in 3:52.02, 1.89 seconds ahead of Hungary’s Zsoka Csikos. Fisher also claimed bronze in the K1 500m, after leading much of the race, finishing behind Poland’s Anna Pulawska and the Netherlands’ Selma Konijn.
The Flying Kiwi is back on top. Olympic champion Hamish Kerr won his first Diamond League event of 2025 in Rabat, clearing 2.25m to claim victory ahead of a strong field that included JuVaughn Harrison (USA) and fellow Oceanian Yual Reath (AUS).
