Bowls teams still looking good

The high-flying women’s four and men’s pair look to have struck a rich vein of form as their bowls events head towards the play-off stages.

The men’s pair of Blake Signal and Shannon McIlroy remain unbeaten after dispatching of the Cook Islands 26-12 and Fiji 18-11 today.

The women’s four – Tayla Bruce, Val smith, Katelyn Inch and Mandy Boyd – also had two wins to maintain their unbeaten record. They beat Zambia 21-8 and were even more dominant against Norfolk Island, winning 28-5.

However, there were some setbacks for other New Zealand teams in the afternoon sessions.

In the mixed  B2/B3, the New Zealand team of David Stallard, Peter Blick, Sue Curran and Ann Muir went down 14-12 to South Africa. And the Open B6/B7/B8 triple of Bruce Wakefield, Barry Wynks and Mark Noble were pipped 13-12 by England.
